Today I am sharing my sugar free banana muffins recipe with you! I came up with this recipe a few years ago, and I haven’t used another recipe since. These healthy banana muffins only use maple syrup, honey, and apple sauce to sweeten them(and of course the bananas!). They are honestly sweet enough to be a healthy banana cupcake recipe! All you have to do is throw some frosting on top, and you would have yourself a delicious and healthier version of a cupcake! For today though, we will focus on them as more of a healthy banana breakfast muffin. You can feel good about eating these on the side of a balanced breakfast, or take them along with you as a snack to have thought the day!

Ingredients needed for these Sugar Free Banana Muffins:
- Bananas
- Apple Sauce (or strawberry apple sauce)
- Honey
- Maple Syrup
- Coconut Oil
- Maple or Vanilla Extract
- Egg
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Whole Wheat Flour
- Baking Soda
- Sea Salt
- Chocolate Chips
- Shredded Coconut
- Crushed Pecans or Walnuts
Can I substitute to make these healthy banana muffins flourless?
If you are wanting a flourless muffin option, then I would suggest swapping your whole wheat flour with oat flour. It does change the density of the muffin slightly, but still tastes delicious! To make oat flour, all you have to do is measure out your oats as you would your flour, and then blend in a blender until it’s a fine powder! Make sure to add equal parts oat flour(not whole oats!) when substituting for whole wheat.
How do I make my sugar free banana muffin recipe vegan?
For this sugar free banana muffin recipe, most of the ingredients fall into the vegan category. If you are wanting to make this recipe fully vegan, you can swap out your egg for a flax egg. If you aren’t quite sure how to make a flax egg I attached a link here that will help answer any questions!
