Hi, I’m Makhaya!
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my blog! As a Thrilled Foodie, I am excited to be able to share with you my love for cooking, and everything I learn with each new meal I make! I have been very fortunate in my life to experience amazing food from around the world, and eaten a variety of dishes from near and far. I am passionate about flavor and I will take “quality” over “quantity” any day!
Cooking and baking are very much a creative outlet for me. I love to experiment and try new things. I feel I am able to express myself through food. As a painting is to a painter, food is art to me.
I think food is beautiful! I love to photograph the food I make, and meals I eat when I travel! I think there are so many wonderful memories made in the kitchen. In my house, our kitchen really does feel like the heart of our home. I am learning more each day, and I’m grateful for this opportunity to share my Thrilled Foodie journey with you!
My Mission

My mission in starting this blog is to create a stress free atmosphere around finding new recipes, and to make meal planning easier! I never like to feel bored with a meal that I am eating, so my goal is to provide a variety of recipes for “all” tastebuds. My hope is that anyone that visits this blog will leave with a new favorite recipe, or find something that meets their personal food preferences!
At Thrilled Foodie you will also find kitchen hacks and tips to make your cooking experience more enjoyable and to help save you time when life is busy!
As a passionate foodie I really enjoy eating at new restaurants, and experiencing food outside of my own kitchen! I will post about fun foods I have tried around the world, as well as reviews of some of my favorite local and non local restaurants. In hopes that if you ever get the chance to visit these places, you will already have some yummy locations to add to your food bucket list!
My Vision

My Vision here is that I will help to change perspectives about food. I believe what makes a dining experience so enjoyable is the QUALITY of ingredients used, and care going into a meal being prepared. “Everything good in moderation” is a phrase I really enjoy. Slowing down and appreciating the flavors that come with every bite will make your meal experience so much more memorable!
In sharing my recipes, I am hoping to be able to bring you, as the cook, a sense of pride with the work you have put into making a home cooked meal, and to feel accomplished as you taste your food creation.
I want everyone, no matter their level of experience, to feel comfortable in the kitchen, confident, to try new things, and experiment with new cooking techniques, flavors, and foods!
